The Comprehensive Home Performance Assessment (also called "WholeHouse Energy Audit") is more than a simple inspection and estimate. It is your plan of action. A plan to maximize your money saved versus money spent on energy improvements. One of our BPI-certified home inspectors will come to your house and, over the course of two to three hours, perform tests, take measurements, answer all your questions on home performance issues, and provide customer education on the most cost-effective course of action. The following inspections are performed:

Blower Door test to determine air infiltration rates

and sources,

Infrared scan to determine insulation levels

and heat loss sources.

Heating system efficiency testing.
Combustion appliance draft testing.
Carbon monoxide (CO) testing of all combustion appliances

including stoves, furnaces and how water tanks.

Lighting survey and electric appliance analysis

Shortly thereafter, New Buffalo Impact will send you your fully completed Comprehensive Home Performance Assessment Report (see sample report - link), which lists all of the results, our recommendations for action, energy savings calculations for each recommendation, and a proposal to perform the work. We'd also be happy to sit down with you and explain what all the numbers mean, and discuss the many options and incentives available to get the work done.

Once you have a completed energy assessment performed by New Buffalo Impact in hand, all of the listed recommendations are immediately eligible for incentives from New York's Home Performance with Energy Star program to help you to get the work done.
